Amrita Hospital, Kochi, hosted Amrita Sparsham 2025, a heartfelt gathering for liver transplant recipients, donors and their families. The event was organized to honor the courage of transplant patients and organ donors, the unwavering support of their families, and the dedicated commitment of the medical team behind each life-saving surgery.

The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sudhindran S, Professor and Chief Surgeon, Department of Solid Organ Transplantation, Amrita Hospital. Among the special guests was three-year-old Gauthami from Thrissur, who had undergone a successful liver transplant at Amrita Hospital and attended the event with her parents.

The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Anand Kumar, Head of Neurology, Amrita Hospital; Dr. Gireesh Kumar K.P, Principal, Amrita School of Medicine; Dr. Shine Sadashivan, Head of Gastroenterology; Dr. Ramachandran N. Menon, Professor, Department of GI Surgery; and representatives from the Liver Foundation of Kerala (LIFOK) — Vinu V. Nair, Rajesh Kumar, Babu Kuruvilla, and Manoj Kumar.

A talk by Dr. Anand Kumar, titled “Anandam: The Music of Nature,” was one of the highlights of the day. A vibrant open forum followed, where doctors including Dr. Dinesh Balakrishnan, Dr. Binoj, Dr. Shine Sadashivan, Dr. Nithya Abraham, Dr. Dhanya Chandran, Dr. Saurabh Radhakrishnan, Physiatrist Nandana, and Dietitian Shilpa interacted with transplant patients and their families.

The event also featured a quiz competition centered on organ transplantation and a series of cultural performances that beautifully reflected themes of hope, resilience, and the celebration of life.
