Overview
Dr. Gireesh Kumar K. P. has served as Principal of Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi, since 17 October 2022, and is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He joined the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences on 11 November 2003 as Assistant Professor in the Department of General Medicine, and later served as Professor of Internal Medicine and subsequently as Chief and Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine.
With more than two decades of teaching experience, he has taught medical and allied undergraduate and postgraduate studentss. He is the author of more than 12 textbooks in internal medicine and emergency medicine, published by Paras Medical Books. They include Medicine at Your Fingertips (4th ed., 2023), Medicine Made Easy, Clinical Medicine in 30 Hours, Advanced Emergency Life Support Protocols, Emergency Physicians ECG Manual and Fluids, Electrolytes and Acid–Base Balance.
