The Department of Respiratory Medicine at Amrita Hospital, Kochi, hosted an exclusive one-day workshop on ICU and Respiratory Medicine-related procedures. The event brought together a diverse group of 55 participants, including 25 esteemed faculties from within the state and beyond, making it a robust platform for knowledge exchange.

The day unfolded with a series of seminars and panel discussions covering a wide spectrum of topics, ranging from the fundamentals of bronchoscopy anatomy to the pivotal role of bronchoscopy in various ICU settings such as transplant ICU. Participants had the opportunity to explore the applications of Ultrasound in critical care, understand the therapeutic role of bronchoscopy in the ICU setting, and grasp the nuances of percutaneous tracheostomy.

The seminar, characterized by insightful discussions and expert presentations, set the stage for a deeper exploration of critical procedures through hands-on workshops. Five distinct workshop stations provided participants with practical experience in bronchoscopic intubation, Ultrasound-guided central line and arterial line insertion, percutaneous tracheostomy, lung ultrasound, and ECHO/ICD/pigtail drainage.

The response from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with unanimous feedback highlighting the value gained from the master class. The event succeeded not only in disseminating knowledge but also in fostering a sense of community among professionals in the field.
