The distinguished attendees included Dr. Ananth Mohan, DTO Ernakulam, Kerala; Dr. Gayatri A. V, WHO Consultant, Kerala; Mr. Mohd Shadab, Senior Manager Corporate Partnerships, The Union; Mr. Ashish Verma, National Consultant, Multisectoral Engagement, CTD; Dr. Midhun Rajiv, Technical Advisor, Corporate Partnerships, The Union; and various District NTEP representatives.
This gathering was to evaluate the tuberculosis (TB) control measures in Kerala. The discussion encompassed three key topics: TB in diabetes patients, TB control measures in the private sector, Anti-TB Stewardship Program and Amrita TB free village.During the meeting, Dr. Akhilesh K, Clinical Professor & Senior Consultant at Department of Respiratory Medicine, presented an overview of the Amrita Model for TB elimination.
Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mattoo commended Amrita Hospital's efforts in the field of TB elimination, acknowledging the institution's commitment to public health. The meeting also delved into discussions regarding the Amrita TB Free Village Program. Amrita Hospital, Kochi, has been actively implementing TB control measures in the adopted villages of Mata Amritanandamayi Math.
