
A hemophilia camp was organized under the leadership of Amrita Hospital, Kochi, in association with the Madurai Chapter of the Hemophilia Society of India and Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Madurai. Nearly 100 patients participated in the camp, held at Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Madurai, on Sunday, August 16.
The camp was led by Dr. Neeraj Sidharthan, Head of the Department of Hematology at Amrita Hospital, Kochi, and Dr. Rema G., Associate Professor. Madurai MLA S. Karthikeyan; Vaikundam, Vice President of the Hemophilia Society of India; Brahmachari Chidanandamrita Chaitanya and Brahmachari Nikhileshamrita Chaitanya of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Madurai, were among those present.
A multidisciplinary team of around 30 medical professionals from Amrita Hospital, representing the departments of Hematology, Orthopaedics, Dentistry and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, examined the patients. In addition to free medical consultations and treatment, services including X-rays, ECGs and blood tests were provided. Factor replacement therapy for hemophilia was also administered to patients.
