Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Health Sciences Campus has taken a transformative step in healthcare education with the introduction of Kerala's first-ever Virtual Anatomy Table (Anatomage Table). This innovative tool is a game-changer in medical training, offering state-of-the-art resources for diagnostics, surgical planning, and patient communication.
The Anatomage Table enables medical trainees to practice complex procedures, such as dissections, craniotomies, ultrasounds, and catheterizations, in a risk-free environment. By incorporating thousands of real-patient cases and histology scans, the platform allows users to study various pathologies and cellular structures, enhancing procedural accuracy and reducing surgical errors.
This groundbreaking tool integrates digitized cadavers reconstructed from frozen slices of real human bodies, presenting life-size 3D representations with anatomical precision down to 0.5 mm. These interactive models include diverse representations, such as male, female, geriatric, and pregnant anatomies, providing an immersive and comprehensive learning experience. The Anatomage Table not only equips students with advanced skills but also ensures better diagnostic and surgical outcomes for patients.
The Digital Anatomy Lab , featuring the Anatomage Table, was inaugurated by Dr. Prem Nair, Provost and Group Medical Director of Amrita Hospitals , alongside esteemed faculty members , including Dr. K.P. Gireesh Kumar, Principal of Amrita School of Medicine , Dr Minnie Pillay, Dr. Subramania Iyer, Dr. Asha J. Mathew, Dr. Rathi Sudhakaran, Dr. Nanditha, and other Anatomy faculty members, as well as faculty from other departments of the institute.
