Fetal Medicine is one of the youngest, yet fastest growing, specialties in Medicine.  With advances in ultrasound technology, it has become possible to image every facet of the fetus in health and disease. Understanding Fetal physiology and pathophysiology has made it possible to initiate management of specific conditions in the antenatal period itself. In other situations, like critical congenital heart defects, a planned delivery in a tertiary center and expedited post-natal care results in improved outcomes. At Amrita Hospital, Kochi, we are fortunate to have all the specialists required to care for the fetus, under one roof.
