The Department of Pediatric Surgery at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Faridabad, organized a one-day academic event titled “Hypospadias – It Isn’t Rare: Let’s Make Understanding Common for a Better Future.” The response to the event was excellent, with more than 170 registrations from pediatric surgeons, urologists, anesthetists, and trainees from all over the country, which highlights the relevance of hypospadias management in modern pediatric urology and surgery.

The academic sessions provided a platform for an illustrious list of nationally acclaimed speakers and moderators who are experts in the area of hypospadias surgery. The scientific program was formally inaugurated by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Medical Director, Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, who emphasized the need for continuous medical education and learning together for better surgical outcomes and comprehensive patient care.

Dr. Harprakash Singh Miglani, President, Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons (IAPS), whose talk emphasized the latest concepts in hypospadias surgery and the need for innovation in improving surgical techniques and long-term outcomes.

The scientific sessions were designed to address intricate surgical anatomy, principles of primary repair, advanced reconstructive surgery, difficult and re-do surgeries, as well as long-term functional and cosmetic results.

The sessions were made more informative with operative tips, videos, and pearls, and the moderators made sure that the interactive sessions encouraged the delegates to share their experiences and remove doubts about the complex issues of decision-making, complications, and follow-up evaluations. Throughout the day, there was a focus on post-surgical evaluation and quality-of-life issues, which are the current trends in international pediatric urology practice.

The conference also highlighted the combined experience and commitment of the Department of Pediatric Surgery, AIMS Faridabad, in advancing the standards of care in hypospadias. The delegates appreciated the well-rounded program, the variety of subjects, and the high scientific content of the deliberations, which added immense value to their daily practice.

The event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Nitin Jain, Organizing Chairperson, Senior Consultant & Head, Department of Pediatric Surgery, AIMS Faridabad, and the organizing team, including Dr. Rajib Bora, Dr. Ridhima Bhatia, and Dr. Agnishikha Bhatt. The hard work of the team ensured that the program was conducted in a smooth manner with a combination of basic and case discussions.

The Hypospadias program is an important academic milestone for Amrita Hospital, Faridabad. The good turnout, the presence of the national faculty, and the scientific content of the deliberations have once again reinforced the commitment of the institution to education, innovation, and excellence in pediatric surgery and urology, as envisioned in its vision of providing compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.
