Amrita Hospitals (Kochi and Faridabad) and the Amrita Research Center Delhi NCR (ARCD) hosted the Kochi–Faridabad Joint Medical Conclave on 2–3 August 2025, in alignment with the Government of India’s BIOE3 Policy 2025. The two-day event, held at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Faridabad campus, brought together leading clinicians, scientists, and academic leaders to strengthen the nation’s research and innovation ecosystem in healthcare.

The conclave commenced with an auspicious pooja led by Swamiji, symbolizing unity of purpose. Dr. Shanti Nair, Dean of ARCD, in her welcome address, highlighted the transformative potential of integrating clinical practice with advanced biomedical research to create impactful health solutions. Keynote speakers emphasized the importance of a systematic and collaborative approach: Dr. Amit Dinda called for integrating clinical expertise with basic sciences, Dr. D.M. Vasudevan stressed methodical clinical research practices, and Dr. Priya Nair highlighted leveraging Amrita’s rural health network for meaningful public health studies.

Participants were divided into six specialty-focused groups covering areas such as cardiovascular sciences, neurology, oncology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, and surgery. Each group identified translational research priorities, including multiomics for complex disease analysis, AI-driven diagnostics in epilepsy, oncology, and mental health, genomic profiling of infectious diseases, regenerative medicine innovations, and the development of biosensors and biorepositories to accelerate diagnostics.

Day two focused on creating a sustainable framework for collaboration. A high-level panel, moderated by Dr. Priya Nair, outlined strategies for cross-campus data sharing, harmonized ethics processes, joint grant applications, shared infrastructure, and a unified vision document for Research, Development & Innovation (RDI).

The conclave concluded with a strong reaffirmation of the shared mission: merging Amrita’s clinical expertise with cutting-edge research capabilities to deliver solutions for pressing healthcare challenges. “This conclave marks the beginning of a sustained, results-driven partnership that can redefine how medical research serves the nation,” said Dr. Shanti Nair.

The Kochi–Faridabad Joint Medical Conclave signifies a major step forward in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, translating research into real-world impact, and strengthening India’s national health innovation ecosystem.
