
Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, marked World Patient Safety Day with a week-long celebration from September 8–16, 2025, highlighting the importance of safe healthcare practices and fostering a strong culture of patient safety across the institution.
Established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019, World Patient Safety Day is observed annually on September 17 to promote global action in reducing harm in healthcare systems and strengthening patient safety.
At Amrita Hospital, the Quality team organized a series of engaging activities, including competitions, a model exhibition, a patient safety quiz, and the launch of the International Patient Safety Goals (IPSG) Awareness Video. The celebrations saw enthusiastic participation from staff, doctors, and students across departments, with over 200 attendees contributing to the success of the event.
Staff and students submitted creative entries, including Patient Safety Reels/Videos (31 entries), Innovative Ideas on Patient Safety (16 entries), and Patient Safety Models (20 entries made from “best out of waste” materials). Participation came from nearly every department, from Nursing and Pharmacy to Radiology, Fire Safety, Housekeeping, and more, along with students from Medical, Nursing, Allied, and other colleges.
20 patient safety models were displayed in the Atrium, drawing great interest from attendees. Senior clinicians and administrators, including Medical Director Dr. Sanjeev Singh and Medical Administrator Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, judged the exhibits and commended the creativity and awareness showcased.
With 48 participants representing diverse teams, an interactive quiz promoted team spirit and awareness of patient safety. The event also featured the official launch of the IPSG Awareness Video, produced by the Quality team. Winners of the various competitions were honored during the prize distribution ceremony by Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Medical Director and Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Medical Superintendent. The celebrations at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, served as a powerful reminder of the shared responsibility in ensuring patient safety.
