
Amrita Hospital Kochi performed free heart surgeries for children suffering from heart disease in collaboration with Cochin Shipyard. The initiative aimed to provide life-saving surgeries for children under the age of 18. The surgeries were carried out for children from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and six children from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, following a heart check-up camp.
A total of 18 children received critical heart surgeries under this program, which was made possible through a partnership between Amrita Hospital and the Amrita Heart Care Foundation. The event was a testament to the commitment to providing healthcare to children in need, regardless of their financial background.
The ceremony, held at Amrita Hospital, Kochi, was attended by Dr. Prem Nair, Medical Director of Amrita Hospitals Group; Sampath Kumar.P.N., Head of Cochin Shipyard Limited's CSR Department; Yousuf. A.K., Manager at Cochin Shipyard, and senior doctors from the Pediatric Cardiology Department at Amrita Hospital, including Dr. R. Krishnakumar and Dr. Brijesh. P.K.
