In honor of Dysphagia Awareness Week, Amrita Swallow Centre at the Department of Head and Neck Surgery hosted a series of events to shed light on swallowing difficulties.

Medical oncologist Dr. VP Gangadharan inaugurated the event, and insights were shared by Dr. Bhanu Vikraman Pillai, Consultant, Pediatric Gastroenterologist, Dr. Ajoy Menon, Senior Medical Administrator, Dr. Subramania Iyer, Chairman, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Krishnakumar Thankappan, Clinical Professor, Department of Head and Neck Surgery, Bri. Dr. Nivedita, Head, Department of Clinical Nutrition, and Arya C J, Chief Deglutologist.

Under the guidance of the Amrita Swallow Centre, a series of dysphagia awareness programs were scheduled throughout the week. These initiatives include free screening camp, engaging flash mobs and awareness camps, targeting schools and old age homes to disseminate crucial information about swallowing difficulties.
