Amrita Hospital, Kochi, has dispatched its Disaster Management Medical Unit vehicle to assist in the disaster-hit areas of Wayanad. Minister P. Rajeev flagged off the vehicle, which is equipped with advanced facilities to aid those in need.
The vehicle carries medicines and features such as a mini operation theater, X-ray, ultrasound, echo, high-speed lab, and telemedicine facilities to ensure comprehensive care.
"The disaster that has occurred in Wayanad is heart-wrenching; we need assistance and services at various levels. The vehicle that has departed from Amrita is specially designed to reach disaster areas to provide assistance, and this is a commendable mission," said Minister Rajeev while flagging off the mission.
The flag-off event was attended by Ernakulam D.M.O Dr. K. Savitha, Nodal Officer Dr. Daya Pascal, R.C.H Officer M.S. Reshmi, Brahmachari Dr. Jaggu, Additional Medical Superintendent Dr. K.V. Beena, General Manager C.V. Vinayakan, and School of Medicine Principal Dr. Girish Kumar.
The government-approved twenty-member relief team is headed by Dr. Jaggu and Dr. Sreekumar. The expert medical team of doctors, technicians, and paramedical staff, which has previously worked in disaster areas such as Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh, is now bringing hope and relief to Wayanad.
Amritakripa Charitable Hospital in Kalpetta is currently providing medical assistance in the disaster-affected area, further supporting the rescue efforts.
