
In celebration of the birthday of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amrita Hospital Kochi, in collaboration with Mananthavady Mata Amritanandamayi Math and Amrita Telemedicine of India Kerala Chapter, organized a free medical camp for the tribal community in Wayanad. The camp, titled 'Samaswasam,' was held at the Mananthavady Mata Amritanandamayi Math and provided crucial medical services for respiratory diseases, oral ulcers, tuberculosis (TB) screening, and pulmonary rehabilitation.
The camp was inaugurated by Honorable Deputy Chairperson Mr. Jacob Sebastian. Dr. P. Narayan Nair, the first doctor in Wayanad, offered felicitation. Prof. Dr. Akhilesh K and Dr. Kunal, pulmonologists from Amrita Hospital Kochi, examined patients in person, Prof. Dr. Subrahmaniya Iyer, Head of the Head and Neck Department, provided consultations via telemedicine, extending expert care to the tribal community remotely.
This event offered much-needed medical assistance to the tribal community, helping them overcome barriers to healthcare access. Medical social worker Atul Ajay coordinated the camp, ensuring its smooth operation, Rajish played a vital role as the system administrator, ensuring seamless telemedicine connectivity. Shajil Kumar also supported for the success of the camp.
