The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Amrita Hospital, Kochi, in association with the Kochi Obstetric and Gynaecological Society (COGS), organized a one-day workshop titled “Two Battles – Tackling Acute Obstetric Crisis and the Lifelong Struggle of Endometriosis.” The programme focused on the latest approaches to managing obstetric emergencies and addressing the long-term challenges posed by endometriosis.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Gracy Thomas, President of COGS. Scientific sessions were led by Dr. Radhamani K., Emeritus Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Amrita Hospital. Dr. K.V. Beena, Additional Medical Superintendent, and Dr. Chitra R., Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, also addressed the gathering.

Renowned obstetricians and gynecologists delivered expert sessions on critical pregnancy-related complications, including amniotic fluid embolism, uterine rupture, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP), eclampsia, hypertensive crisis, and sepsis. The workshop also featured a panel discussion on the diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis, a chronic condition affecting women’s reproductive health.

Doctors and healthcare professionals from hospitals across Kerala participated in the programme, which provided a platform for knowledge-sharing and discussions on evidence-based clinical practices in women's healthcare.
