As part of its 100-day Tuberculosis (TB) Eradication Campaign, Amrita Hospital, Kochi, organized a TB screening camp to promote early detection and awareness. The camp was held at Srimulanagaram Akavoor Government School in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Madhya Kerala Chapter, Ernakulam District TB Center, and NYMAT-INDIA.
Over 120 individuals participated in the screening, including high-risk groups such as smokers, diabetics, elderly individuals, cancer patients, and those with chronic lung diseases. To ensure comprehensive testing, sputum tests were conducted in partnership with Chowwara Government Hospital and the District TB Center for individuals suspected to be at risk of tuberculosis.
The initiative, led by Amrita Hospital’s medical team, is part of a larger commitment to reducing TB prevalence through early detection, prevention, and treatment. The hospital continues to work towards raising awareness and strengthening community health interventions to achieve a TB-free society.
