
A mega medical camp was organised by Amrita Hospital, Kochi, in association with the Lions Club of Kombodinamackal and Seva Bharati Health Department, brought comprehensive healthcare services to the local community through free consultations, diagnostic services, and medicines at Irinjalakuda town hall.
Specialists from Amrita Hospital representing General Medicine, Paediatrics, ENT, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, and Dentistry offered free medical consultations to the participants. Complimentary medicines were distributed to all patients following their consultations.
The camp also featured a range of diagnostic facilities, including X-ray, ECG, blood investigations, audiology, and Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT). Two specialised mobile medical units from Amrita Hospital were deployed at the venue to facilitate these services. The camp was inaugurated with a benedictory address by Swami Amoghamrita Chaitanya, Head of Irinjalakuda Math. Adv. Thomas, MLA, presided over the function. Nalin Kumar Kateel chaired the event, while P.N. Easwaran, Uttar Pranta Karyavah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and Johnson Kolankanni, Lions Club District Medical Camp Coordinator, extended their felicitations.
Welcoming the gathering, Jagadish Panickaveettil, Convener of Seva Bharati Health Wing, highlighted the importance of collaborative community healthcare initiatives. M D Jayan, Medical Camp Administrator, Amrita Hospital, briefed the audience about the range of medical services made available during the camp. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Harikumar Thaliyakkattil, Executive Member of Seva Bharati. As part of its commitment to community healthcare, Amrita Hospital also extended free medical evaluation and treatment support for children diagnosed with eye and heart ailments, ensuring that those requiring advanced care receive appropriate follow-up treatment.
