
The Department of Clinical Psychology, Amrita Hospital, Kochi, successfully hosted the Amrita Annual Conclave on Clinical Psychology (AACCP) 2025, a two-day national conference approved for 12 CRE points by the Rehabilitation Council of India. The theme of this year’s conclave — “Psychosocial & Rehabilitative Perspectives in Paediatric Psycho-oncology: Bridging Care from Diagnosis to Recovery” — brought together leading experts, clinicians, researchers, and trainees from across India.
The conference created a rich platform to explore the emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and rehabilitative needs of children undergoing cancer treatment, while highlighting the crucial role of multidisciplinary psychosocial care. The conclave opened with prayer, pooja, and lamp lighting by dignitaries, setting a solemn and inspiring tone. Shri M.V. Thampi (Chief Program Administrator, Amrita Centre for Allied Health Sciences) addressed the gathering, underscoring Amrita’s commitment to compassionate healthcare driven by Amma’s vision.

A powerful panel discussion on emerging research in paediatric psycho-oncology—moderated by Dr. Dhanya Chandran—highlighted new directions, challenges, and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
The conclave featured eminent resource persons from Amrita Hospital, AIIMS New Delhi, St. John’s Medical College Bengaluru, Cancer Institute Adyar, Prajyoti Niketan College, and other leading institutions — reinforcing its national academic footprint.
AACCP 2025 concluded with a valedictory session celebrating the collective commitment of clinicians, researchers, and trainees toward improving psychological and rehabilitative care for children with cancer. Participants praised the conference for its depth, structure, and compassionate focus, describing it as a transformative learning experience.
