Dr. M. Vijayakumar

Dr. M. Vijayakumar serves as a Consultant and Professor in Adult Cardiology at Amrita Hospital, Kochi, where he brings a wealth of expertise to his practice and teaching. Specializing in adult interventional cardiology, Dr. Vijayakumar is particularly skilled in endovascular aortic aneurysm repair and complex coronary interventions. In his research focused on public health, Dr. Vijayakumar has investigated cardiovascular disease within the indigenous populations of Wayanad, Kerala, through an ICMR-supported study. He has also led research efforts to explore the cardiovascular effects of different dietary oils, particularly through studies examining the effects of coconut and sunflower oils in patients with coronary artery disease.
