Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, commemorated World Anaesthesia Day (WAD) 2025, honoring the first successful public demonstration of ether anaesthesia in 1846 by Dr. William T.G. Morton. The day celebrates the pivotal role of anaesthesiologists as silent guardians of patient safety, ensuring comfort, vigilance, and excellence across surgery, intensive care, pain management, and emergency medicine.
The celebration this year focused on the theme “Patient Safety” and featured academic talks delivered by young anaesthesiologists, followed by engaging academic and Bollywood-themed quizzes. The event brought together the anaesthesia fraternity of Faridabad for knowledge sharing, reflection, and reinforcement of key principles such as vigilance, medication safety, effective monitoring, and clear communication—cornerstones of safe anaesthetic practice.
