
Amrita School of Medicine, Faridabad, marked National Pharmacovigilance Week 2025 with a comprehensive four-day program to promote awareness of drug safety and Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting. The event combined educational sessions, competitions, and interactive activities to engage students, clinicians, and healthcare staff.
The week began on 17th September with a guest lecture by Dr. Ravinder K Sah, Professor, Lady Hardinge Medical College, on “Your Safety, Just a Click Away: Report to PvPI”, emphasizing the importance of ADR reporting in clinical practice. An online session for clinicians by Dr. Ajay Prakash, Additional Professor, PGIMER Chandigarh, highlighted the Pharmacovigilance and Materiovigilance programs of India.
On 18th September, an E-poster Competition was conducted for student groups to present projects on pharmacovigilance, judged on content, clarity, and relevance. The following day, 19th September, featured a Rangoli Competition by Allied Health Sciences and Nursing students, showcasing creativity and awareness of patient safety through themed artwork.
The celebration concluded on 22nd September with a lecture by Dr. Meghna Pandey, Professor, Amrita School of Medicine, for nursing students, focusing on the role of future nurses in promoting drug safety. The program also included feedback sessions, discussions, and prize distribution for competition winners.
The activities were well-received by all participants, with students and staff highlighting the relevance of pharmacovigilance in improving patient care and clinical practice. The event reinforced Amrita’s commitment to fostering a culture of safety, awareness, and proactive monitoring in healthcare.
