The Oncology-Driven Oncoplastic Breast Surgery continuing medical education (CME) session was organized by the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, in association with the Department of Breast Surgery.
The CME session provided an opportunity for experts in the field, including oncologists, reconstructive surgeons, molecular biologists, medical students, and residents from different institutions, to come together and share a cutting-edge academic exchange of knowledge and information.
The thrust of the theme was on the current day management of breast cancer, with emphasis on the simultaneity of multidisciplinary strategies for the three aspects of tumor biology, genomics, and neoadjuvant therapy.
The activity comprised presentations by recognized figures, which included a range of topics such as therapeutic mammoplasty, local perforator flaps, immediate versus delayed reconstruction, radiation effects, and axillary downstaging.
Moreover, interactive panel discussions addressed key questions while sharing knowledge that enables patients to make well-informed decisions. The highlight of the conference was the panel discussion entitled, “Precision & Personalisation in Breast Cancer Care: Integrating Genomics, Reconstruction and Survivorship.” This panel discussion also reinforced the importance of aesthetic restoration as a key factor in the recovery of patients’ psychosocial well-being and quality of life.

The CME was organized by Dr. Anil (Head of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery), Dr. Mohit Sharma (Senior Consultant), Dr. Shikha Gupta (Senior Consultant), and Dr. Shiveta Razdan (Senior Consultant in Breast Oncology) and emphasized the integration of oncology and reconstruction from inception.

The conference was attended by consultants, residents, fellows, and specialists who earned 3 Credit Hours from the Haryana Medical Council and represents the continued evolution of the Indian interest in integrated breast units.

Amrita Hospital reiterates its commitment to evidence-driven, patient-focused strategies emphasizing safety, science, and survivorship. Appreciation to all faculty and delegates for this academic success.
