The agreement was formalised during the visit of His Excellency M. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, to the Amritapuri Ashram in Kerala, where he met Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, the revered humanitarian and spiritual leader.

The Ambassador, accompanied by his spouse and a distinguished delegation including M. Etienne Rolland-Piègue, Consular General of France in Pondicherry, M. Charles Mahy, Health and Social Affairs Attaché at the Embassy, and other key embassy officials, discussed a variety of potential collaborations between the French Embassy, Amrita Hospital, and the broader Amrita network of institutions in India.

The MoU marks the beginning of a new phase of French-Indian collaboration in the health sector, with joint projects expected to be developed and implemented in the coming months. This collaboration will further enhance the exchange of knowledge, research, and innovations between the two countries, especially in the healthcare domain.

His Excellency’s visit to Amritapuri Ashram and his audience with Amma facilitated meaningful discussions on future initiatives, aiming to bring transformative changes in healthcare, education, and social welfare.
