Dr. Neena Khanna

Dr. Neena Khanna joins Amrita Hospital after an almost 40 year stint at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi from where she retired as Dean (Academics) & Professor & Head, Dept of Dermatology & Venereology. At AIIMS she was involved in clinical & research, work & teaching & administration. Her clinical work includes special focus on aesthetic dermatology, pediatric dermatology, acne, psoriasis, vitiligo & other pigmentary disorders, autoimmune blistering diseases, PCOS, leprosy & STIs. 

Apart from several awards & orations, she has been bestowed with the IADVL Life Time Achievement Award by the Indian Association of Dermatologists Venereologists & Leprologists, which is 2nd largest association of dermatologists in the world. She is the author of the popular undergraduate text book of dermatology ‘Illustrated Synopsis of Dermatology & STDs, which is used as a standard text book in MBBS curriculum. She has authored 170 publications in indexed journals & 11 books, & has delivered 200 lectures at national & international conferences

Her Publications includes:

• Books: 11, including Illustrated Synopsis of Dermatology & Sexually Transmitted Diseases (Elsevier) now in 6th edition, which is used as standard text book by undergrad-uates in India & several countries in Asia. Book sells 5,000–7,000 copies annually. 
• Chapters in books: 31 including chapters in IAP Textbook of Medicine, IADVL Textbook of Dermatology & Ghai’s Essentials of Pediatrics. Was on editorial board of IADVL Text-book of Dermatology. 
• Journals: More than 170 articles in journals of repute, with high impact factor, most as 1st or corresponding author. 
• Presentations: More than 160, including orations, invited lectures, presentations, panel discussions (as moderator & panelist) at international, national & state level confer-ences & lecture series as a visiting international faculty 

• Ambady Oration - Awarded by Indian Association of Dermatologists Venereologists Lep-rologists (IADVL), for original work, 2017. This is the most prestigious award of IADVL. 
• Prof LK Bhutani Award - Awarded by IADVL for excellence in teaching & research, 2013 
• Fellowship of IADVL -  in Photobiology, 1991 
• Fellowship of IADVL - in Leprosy, 1987 
• Prof VL Rege Oration - Awarded by IADVL, Goa State Branch, 2021 
• IADVL (DSB) oration - Awarded by IADVL, Delhi State Branch, 2020 
• Sakia Memorial Oration - Awarded by IADVL, North Eastern States Branch, 2015 
• Sardari Lal Award - Awarded by IADVL (DSB) for contribution to field of Venereology, 2006 
• Honorary membership of Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society, University of Medicine, New Jersey, 2006
