The department is also well equipped to manage gastrointestinal emergencies like GI bleeding, acute pancreatitis, cholangitis, intestinal obstruction, complicated liver abscess, acute liver failure, hepatic encephalopathy, liver failure and foreign body ingestion.

• Post-Transplant Clinic

The department works in association with the department of HBP and Liver transplant in providing comprehensive care to recipients of liver, pancreas, or intestinal transplant.

• Multi-disciplinary tumor board

The department actively participates in multi-disciplinary tumor board meetings to devise the best management plan for patients suffering from gastrointestinal or hepato-biliary-pancreatic cancers. The tumor board incorporates opinions from gastroenterologists and hepatologists, HPB and GI surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, molecular and GI pathologists and a comprehensive patient-centric treatment plan is offered to the patient.

• IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) clinic

IBD clinic focuses on providing specialised care to patients with inflammatory bowel diseases like Ulcerative colitis and crohn’s disease. The dedicated team of Gastroenterologists works in close collaboration with radiologists, GI surgeons and dieticians in managing all aspects of the disease.

• Pancreas clinic

Pancreas clinic focusses on management of patients with pancreatic diseases like acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic malignancies and peripancreatic collections.
