Overview
Dr. Ananya Sharma is a highly skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialization in Arthroscopy, Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement, and complex limb reconstruction, including the Ilizarov technique. With over six years of post-graduation experience across some of India's busiest and most reputed tertiary care institutions, he brings a breadth of surgical expertise that is both clinically rigorous and academically grounded.
Dr. Sharma completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Patiala — where he earned multiple academic medals — followed by his MS in Orthopaedic Surgery from Mahatma Gandhi Mission Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai, and the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Orthopaedics in 2021.
He trained as a Senior Resident at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) and Lok Nayak Hospital, New Delhi, one of the country's highest-volume government orthopaedic centres, where he gained extensive hands-on experience in trauma surgery, arthroplasty, arthroscopy, and limb reconstruction across an exceptionally large and diverse patient population. He subsequently worked as a Consultant at St. Stephen's Hospital, New Delhi — one of the capital's most respected mission hospitals — where he developed a high-volume surgical practice with a focused interest in arthroscopic ligament reconstruction, revision arthroplasty, failed trauma surgery and joint replacements.
Dr. Sharma was awarded the prestigious Columbia Travelling Fellowship at the University of Missouri, USA (2024–2025), with dedicated training in Arthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Arthroplasty. He is also a Diploma holder from SICOT (Société Internationale de Chirurgie Orthopédique et de Traumatologie), reflecting his engagement with international orthopaedic standards and practice.
He is recognized for his work in all-inside ACL and PCL reconstruction, including the modified TriLink technique and double-bundle ACL reconstruction. He has presented his research at the SICOT World Congress 2023 (Cairo), Asia Pacific Orthopedic Association (2026), IOACON 2023 and IASCON 2024, earning multiple Best Paper Awards at regional conferences. He has several peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals and has performed live surgical demonstrations at numerous national conferences and training courses.
