Dr. Vidhyadharan Sivakumar is currently Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Head & Neck Surgery and Oncology. He is also a Consultant at the Swallowing Disorders Centre.

Dr. Vidhyadharan graduated from Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai in 2004. After gaining experience in managing life-threatening illnesses and injuries while working with the National Health Service in Emergency Medicine and Acute Medical Unit in the United Kingdom, he returned to India to pursue his post-graduation in MS (ENT) at Rajah Muthiah Medical College and Hospital, Chidambaram; which he completed in 2009. Additionally, he was awarded DNB (ENT) by National Board of Examinations, New Delhi in 2010.

In 2015, he completed the structured three-year training programme at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and was awarded MCh Head & Neck Surgery degree. During this time, he also developed skills in microvascular reconstruction of head and neck defects. He has also worked as an Overseas Registrar in the Department of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia in 2010. Later, he was granted a Clinical Fellowship in Robotic Surgery and Head & Neck Surgery from the same hospital in 2016.

He had furthered his surgical oncology and reconstructive microsurgery training at Department of Head and Neck Services, Tata Memorial Hospital, India; Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Microsurgery, Ganga Hospital, India; Division of Reconstructive Microsurgery, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan and the Departments of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery at Toronto General Hospital, Canada and Yonsei University College of Medicine, South Korea.

Dr. Vidhyadharan’s special interests are Robotic Head and Neck Surgery and Rehabilitation of Swallowing Disorders. Besides his teaching obligations in the department of Head & Neck Surgery and Oncology, He is the Clinical Lead and a faculty for the Master of Science degree course in Deglutology and Swallowing Disorders. He has keen interest to participate in research and academics that could enhance the practice of evidence based medicine in Head and Neck Surgery. He has several publications in international and national journals to his credit.
