It is necessary to quit smoking before your surgery. You must stop taking aspirin and anti-inflammatory drugs to prevent bleeding during the surgery. 

After the Surgery 

After the surgery, you may expect scars that may fade over time. You will also be prescribed pain medications. Abstaining from strenuous activities and proper hygiene would help you heal faster. Contact the hospital or surgeon if you notice redness in your breast or fever that might indicate infection.
